More about this scene

The late Norman church, distinguished by its red crenellated tower, contains some ancient wall paintings, including a fresco of the murder of Thomas a Becket. Also on display are stained glass and brasses. One of the church's greatest treasures is a chapel dedicated to the memory of the Brocas family, who lived at nearby Beaurepaire House. The large south window of the chapel is filled with 16th-century glass and is the work of Flemish craftsmen.

Sunday School
We came back to Bramley in 1958, and I went to school there, until 1964. Every Sunday we used to go to Sunday School. Miss Tubb was the Sunday school mistress, and Tommy Tunstall was the vicar. It was fantastic, a lovely village to grow up in. So safe to cycle round. My name was Attwood in those days, and sometimes my Dad helped out by taking the services in church.

Bramley School Days
I have strong memories of the church as every day at 10 we had to walk down the church path to pick up the milk also.our playground backed onto the graveyard so when there was a funeral we had to come inside which we thought was most unfair.After school we would wonder around the grave yards which was a big no no by the vicker . However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
