More about this scene

The church stands at the entry to Bodmin and was passed by everyone travelling through the county before the town was by- passed by the A30. The old road is quiet in this view; the volume of traffic seems unlikely to challenge the skills of the officer on point duty! The tower is almost hiding behind the body of the church. The embattled south porch has two upper floors for priest's chambers. A little stone roofed house close to the west door is St Guron's Well.

I Was An Evacuee
Towards the end of WW2, I was evacuated to Bodmin. On arrival, we were taken by coach to a large hall. I suppose there must have been more than a hundred of us. At first, we noisily filled the hall, each with a single suitcase. At the far end, a number of posh looking ladies sat at a long trestle table. Basset Hounds
I can remember a Mrs Goodman and her husband Tom there in the 1970's breeding Basset Hounds

My House
I purchased Outlands in 1987 for £70,000, it was and still is my dream home with so much potential, we are still on generator and spring water, the river Camel with salmon and trout fishing is on one boundary and a stream on another boundry with a bridge to access the property. The rear of the property has 200 acres of open forest and a little used extension of the Camel Trail that leads to Bodmin Moor one way and ...see more

Colliford Lake Park
When we used to have family holidays in Downderry year after year, we would visit Colliford Lake Park several times each holiday. It really was great fun there; the army jeep, the go cars, the play areas, the boats; there seemed to be 1001 things you could do at that place. A great place for a day out, imprinting powerful, wonderful memories.

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
