More about this scene
Army surplus meets classic British motor cars. The 1950s saw some British motor manufacturers tinkering with traditional designs. In 1955 Armstrong Siddeley produced a long-wheeled version of their Sapphire limousine; Austin-Healey were content to fit their 100/4 with a four-speed C-series gearbox; and Morris turned out a long-wheelbase version of the Oxford. However, the writing was on the wall: 1955 saw a huge increase in the number of foreign car imports, up from 4600 in 1954 to over 11,100.
