More about this scene
This elegant colonnaded street, with its upper storeys supported on slender Ionic columns, is now cleaned and restored, and the distracting fountain has been moved. Bath Street connected the Pump Room with the Cross Bath of 1784, and was designed by Thomas Baldwin; the foundation stone was laid in 1791 as part of the 1789 Bath Improvement Act works.
