Barnstaple, The Square 1935

More about this scene
This photograph was taken from an almost identical spot. A few cosmetic changes to the buildings can be seen, several of which have been combined to form Prideaux's garage. They are still in business, but on a different site. A roundabout has replaced the gazebo, and trees have been flattened behind the Albert Clock to improve road visibility. The building thus revealed is the Imperial Hotel.
