More about this scene

This stands close to the site of Assington Hall, which burnt down in 1957. Parts of the outbuildings survived, including the range to the left of the church. The interior is lined with monuments to the Gurdon family dating from the 16th to 20th centuries. Since 1907 the porch windows have been blocked. The chest tomb of c1800 is for three members of the Klopfer family of Boxford and Ipswich.

Ancestors In Assington
I am researching my wife's family history and on one side of her family is Charles Freeman Parson. She is his 2nd Great Garandaughter. We know that he lived and farmed at Assington House which I am told that he also built. The Parsons were also tenant farmers at Thorington Hall Nr Stoke by Nayland for a century. Society Farm
In 2001 my husband Derek and I visited Assington. We had been researching Derek's family history, and had discovered that his great-great-grandfather John Crisell was the bailiff, in the middle of the 19th century, at Society Farm, Assington. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
