Little has changed in Ardleigh Green Road over the last half century as we look towards the Squirrel's Heath Lane, Cecil Avenue junction. The baker's, which once was Carter's, is now Godfrey's. The twin gables of the Spencer's Arms can be seen beyond. Perhaps the major difference with today is the lack of parked cars and traffic.
