More about this scene
Looking South This view of the Town Hall shows the main entrance at the centre. In recent years gardens in front of the building, and front steps leading to the entrance, have been replaced by steps to the side and an access ramp. Unfortunately, in building these, the commemorative plaque of the opening in 1891 was covered over! Many election results were announced to the citizens of Swindon from the balcony over the doorway. On the wide pavement, centre right, we can see the small office which was used by the bus inspectors.
