Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Wednesday 18th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Wednesday 18th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Please Note: Our offices and factory are now closed until Thursday 2nd January when we will be pleased to deal with any queries that have arisen during the holiday period.

Browsing through these pictures of NewtonAbbot reminded me of the Saturday job I had at the hardware store. Still feel an affinity with these type places that are left! Happy days at the Grammar School 1964 to 1970.
For a few years my grandfather worked here as an instructor in woodwork.My daughters father our law was also there as an instructor. For many years in the 60s I remember it being run for the deaf. As to the work house I and all my brothers and sisters were born there when it was the maternity wards. My mother worked as an auxiliary in the hospital for 26 years
I used to live with my mum, Rosalie, and dad, Joe, brother John and sister Mary in No.2 and later No.4 Salem (it could have been the other way round). The Jim and Doll Yeo lived one side of us and my dad's sister, Rona and Ted Hamzij the other side and their children; Michael, Ann and maybe Nick. I was born in Newton Abbot 1952. My brother John and I went to Bearnes School until John left to go to a new school above our home in Penn Inn Close. We left Newton Abbot when I was about 6 years old and moved to Bedfordshire. I remember the park (Penn Inn) the pub (Penguin) and the sounds coming from the swimming pool (now Sainsburys). I do go back occasionally on visits; I now live in Plymouth.
