Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Wednesday 18th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Wednesday 18th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Please Note: Our offices and factory are now closed until Thursday 2nd January when we will be pleased to deal with any queries that have arisen during the holiday period.

I too remember the bowling alley, and the Odeon cinema, the bus station, and the drip teacakes, and cups of hot tea,
I saw Elsie Tanner open it in the sixties - cant remember the exact year, my grandma lived in the flats opposite and the Star pub was at the side.
I also went to Akey Place in the early sixties and vividly recall sneaking into the bowling alley by crouching down below the entrance desk. The loud music and bright lights were very American to we kids.
I used to live just off Commercial Road on Gibson Street in the 1950s. The houses were very basic with a living room, a bedroom, attic and cellar. We shared a toilet with another family which was at the end of the terrace.
