The hotel façade has not changed, but Boots have moved further along the High Street and the Halifax Bank has replaced Boots. Fortunately for the hotel, it has been taken over by a group of local businessmen, and it looks much, much better now. It was needing a lot of attention, and it at last received it, with a lot of money being spent on its restoration. The signs have disappeared, and it no longer has any connection with Trust Houses Forte. It has resumed its place as a most important part of Grantham's and England's history.
