I was at the North Cestrian Grammar School from 1959 to 1964, under the Headmastership of Mr Hamblin and then Peter Morton. Lived in Timperley. Anyone else attend the Cestrian ?
I was 17 years old when this photo was taken. Four years later I went into the Motor cycle shop on the right and bought an eighteen month old BSA Rocket Gold Star. Without question the finest bike I ever owned. I remember selling it for £195 in 1968 (He bid me down a fiver) so that I had enough money to marry my sweetheart. She still is ! I remember walking past the tea bar on my way from George Street to the bus station to catch either the 71 or the 80 to Stockport Road/Hare and Hounds, Timperley. I did this every day whilst being a pupil at North Cestrian Grammar School
I have lived all my life in Altricham and I am thinking that these houses were opposite the library in Altrincham, that used to be next to the Stamford Hall. I can't remember the name of the road but these cottages had slate roofs in the 1960's when I saw them as a child. All the buildings were demolished in the late 1970's when Petros developments built what is now Rackhams etc .....
